Missing teeth are not just a cosmetic issue: they reduce chewing efficiency, shift neighboring teeth and cause jawbone loss. Today the most permanent solution is implant treatment.

What is an implant?

An implant is a titanium post placed in the jawbone that acts as a tooth root. With its porcelain or zirconia crown, it is the closest thing to a natural tooth in both look and function.

How does the process work?

After examination and X-rays, the implant is placed under local anesthesia in about 20-30 minutes. After 2-3 months of osseointegration, your permanent crown is fitted.

Who can get implants?

  • Anyone with completed bone growth (usually 18+).
  • Systemic conditions like uncontrolled diabetes must first be managed.
  • Insufficient bone can be built up with grafting.

Healing tips

Avoid hot food for 24 hours, apply cold compresses, and avoid smoking — the biggest risk to healing. Take prescribed medication regularly.

How long do implants last?

With daily brushing, flossing and twice-yearly professional cleanings, implants can last a lifetime.
